The SEZ Technopolis Moscow resident’s investments amounted to more than 21.6 billion roubles for the first nine months of 2021. These investments went to the creation and development of high-tech industries in the capital. It is almost three times more than the same period last year when the investments exceeded 7.3 billion roubles. That was stated by Vladimir Efimov, Vice-Mayor of Moscow for Economic policy and Land-property affairs.
“In the first three quarters of 2021, the SEZ Technopolis Moscow residents invested more than 21.6 billion roubles in the development of the capital’s economy. That is 2.9 times more than the rate of the same period last year. Back then, the development of high-tech industries got more than 7.3 billion roubles invested. That is, furthermore, 4.3 times more than the total investments of residents in the three quarters of 2019. Those exceeded five billion roubles,” the Deputy Mayor said.
From January to September, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and equipment manufacturers invested more than everybody else, said Alexander Prokhorov, Head of the Department for Investment and Industrial policy of Moscow.
“The medicines, medical devices, and equipment manufacturer’s investments amounted to more than 13 billion roubles for the first nine months of 2021. There are currently many enterprises in SEZ Technopolis Moscow who developed sites for the production. The production includes medicines against cancer, kidney failure, heart disease, products for equipping ambulances, disinfection control equipment,” said the Head of the Department.
Active investors are microelectronics cluster enterprises. These are microchips, electronic tags, chips, and semiconductor products, manufacturers. In the first nine months of 2021, they invested over 7.3 billion roubles. The three leaders also include representatives of a cluster of high-tech industries that specialize in additive technologies, inspection equipment for security, develop the production of rope transport systems, refrigeration equipment, educational complexes. They invested more than 458 million roubles.
During the operation of the Moscow special economic zone, residents’ investments exceeded 59 billion roubles in total, said Gennady Degtev, CEO of SEZ Technopolis Moscow. “Thanks to the preferences of the special economic zone, investors are implementing projects with maximum efficiency, providing the city with demanded products and highly qualified jobs. That way, residents created about 1.3 thousand jobs at the end of last year,” highlighted he.
